This Sunflower Days, we’re proud to celebrate the heart of our campaign — our incredible volunteers 

Across Ireland, these dedicated individuals give their time, energy, and compassion year after year to support hospice care. Their kindness brings comfort, dignity, and hope to so many.
Congratulations to Kathleen Flanagan from Carrick on Shannon who has been honoured as North West Hospice’s 2026 Hospice Hero in recognition of her many years of dedicated fundraising service on behalf of the hospice.
Kathleen received the award from Hospice Sunflower Days Ambassador Miriam O’Callaghan at a special ceremony held at St. Francis Hospice in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, in April, coinciding with the launch of the Hospice Sunflower Days 2026 campaign.
Kathleen, along with 12 others from across the country, was awarded the title of ‘Hospice Hero’ at the event.

 The Hospice Hero Awards honour these amazing people — the friendly faces on the streets, the tireless organisers, the true champions of Sunflower Days.
